JOHNNY OTTAVINO is an international beauty expert, brand ambassador and on-air spokesperson. He has been a sought-after professional makeup artist, hair stylist, and beauty education consultant for more than 20 years. His clients include A-list celebrities, TV personalities, and models for television, film, entertainment, publishing and fashion.

Johnny was chosen as the official media spokesperson for Revlon’s ColorStay Haircolor with supermodel Cindy Crawford. In that capacity, he made numerous public and television appearances nationwide providing quick, easy tips for at-home hair coloring and makeup.

For the past 10 years, Johnny has served as Consultant/International Makeup Artist for Laura Geller Beauty, where he has produced, directed and appeared in Laura Geller’s on-air shows for QVC. He books the models for each presentation, hires and manages the makeup crews, designs the specific makeup looks for each show, and manages the production flow of each segment in order to meet revenue goals. Johnny also developed Geller’s brand in international markets including Canada, Italy, the UK and Germany, where he represented the brand, and hired and trained on-air spokespeople.

Johnny’s work has been seen on Paris runways for designer fashion shows including Chanel, Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Armani and Donna Karan. Recognized as a beauty industry authority, he’s often approached by major publications (he was named one of New York’s top “Hair & Beauty Essentials” by Quest magazine) for his expert advice on makeup and hair care. He regularly conducts beauty-education training seminars and workshops in New York, nationwide, and in Canada for professional makeup artists at major cosmetics companies including Revlon, MAC, and Aveda. In response to questions from his clients over the years, Johnny created Maximizing Your Makeup: Downsizing Your Beauty Routine, and Grooming the Groom: A Wedding Day Rescue Guide for Men.

Johnny’s clients include well-known faces such as Deborah Norville, Montel Williams, Aretha Franklin, Salma Hayek, Carnie Wilson and many more.

He honed his expertise while studying in Europe at the Vidal Sassoon salon. His professional training also includes the William Tuttle School and Ben Nye. He is a member of the Board of Advisors for the Make-Up Designory School (MUD) in New York. A native of Brooklyn, Johnny brings his cutting-edge New York style to his work.
